In Thailand, people celebrate Loy Krathong every year, there is a very special Thai festival. It takes on the twelfth lunar moon of the Thai calendar or on 30th October. Thai people celebrate that the rainy season has ended and the main rice harvest has begun. They give thanks to the Water Goddess, Phra Mae Khongkha, for the abundance of water in the past year and also apologize for the pollution ensued. On the night of the full moon, people light candles on their Krathong full of flowers and release it out to the sea or onto the river. In some place, people also release Thai lanterns. Many people get dressed up in traditional Thai costume. At night, there is entertainment, fireworks, and music. People also eat Thai foods and drinks such as Pad Thai and coconut juice. There are a lot of food shops on that day. So, people really enjoy on Loy Krathong Festival.
