I think you all know Japan well. Some may like K-Pop, Japanese food, anime, manga, or attractions. However, there is something well-known for foreigners. It is the concept of Japanese culture. In the past, Japan had been influenced by China a lot such as language. When time went by, the Japanese adapted their culture that had come from China to be their own. Now I am going to talk about only the base of Japanese culture. To start with Zen, Zen is the branch of Mahayana Buddhism. When we talk about Zen, we have to mention "simplicity". The path of Zen is simple; you do not have to hurry up, just sit back, relax, and drink tea. Zen teaches us to live slowly and appreciate the surroundings. This concept has an influence on many things especially gardening. Another concept we have to mention is Wabi-Sabi. Wabi-Sabi is the concept of beauty of imperfection. For example, when the dish or the plate is broken, they do not it away; on the contrary, they get it repaired by using gold or silver to glue the segments. Once it is repaired, it is not only fixed but also very beautiful. They try to teach us that every scar can be a beautiful one. The last concept that is well known is Ikigai. Ikigai is the key to success and happiness. Ikigai is about the love of your job and the work-life balance. How you can be happy when you are at work. These three concepts are just some parts of the many concepts that are involved in forming Japan as we know today.
